ABOUT US
Qur’an Halaqah is a project that yearns to encourage and practically support sisters on their Qur’an journeys. The overwhelming focus is on ensuring sisters transform themselves through, and excel in, their study of and interaction with the Qur’an. Our goal is for us all to foster the strongest relationship with our Rabb and journey to Him through His Speech.
May Allah make us truthful and sincere, accept this as a means of seeking His pleasure and raise our ranks.

WHY? – THE PROBLEM
The Qur'an does not have the station it deserves amongst many sisters- this is the speech of our Creator, but we do not treat it as so, neither do we act as if this is the case.
Too few sisters are memorising/studying/reflecting on the Qur'an- this means that we are falling into the prophecy of the 'abandoning' of the Qur'an.
Memorising and studying the Qur'an seems like an arduous task and we lack adequate the understanding and adequate support systems to keep us consistent.
Memorising and studying the Qur'an should be a transformative journey- many focus on outcomes as opposed to the process.
Too few sisters have access to authentic beneficial knowledge regarding the Qur'an and its sciences.

THE STORY SO FAR
We’re passionate about rekindling sisters’ relationship with the Qur’an. There’s
nothing like the Divine Speech of Allah and there’s nothing better we can support
our sisters with. Over the years, we’ve journeyed through heart-led projects,
community challenges, and long-term programmes that bring the Qur’an back into
the heart of our daily lives. What began as a passion project in 2014, became a
registered charity in 2017 and we’ve been on a blessed journey.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh my dear sisters,
I'm so glad you're here.
Qur'an Halaqah was born from a simple but powerful vision: to help rekindle our connection with the Qur'an. By Allah’s grace, we have moved forward from the simple Halaqah it began as — but the heart of this charity has always remained the same: to change the world, one woman at a time, by drawing us closer to Allah’s words and living them in our daily lives.
As a mum, a Hafidha, and a student continuing her own Qur'an journey, I know the beauty and the struggle of holding space for journeying with the Qur'an while navigating life’s demands. Some days are full of momentum, others feel like gentle whispers of effort — but each step matters.
Qur'an Halaqah is more than a project. It’s a shared space — for reflection, connection, and collective strength. I’d love to walk this journey with you, hear your stories, and grow together — in person, online, or wherever Allah brings us together.

I loved how we began with talking about motherhood from the Quran’s perspective and grounded ourselves as slaves of Allah first. The reminder about Tadabbur was really needed as I think that might be what I missing and it’s not allowed me to progress how I’d like. An Exclusive Live Talk Show with Sumayah Hassan (Recite and Reflect)
By the grace of Allah we have already had our first successful meet up. On the 13th May, 55 beautiful sisters came together to be inspired by, and learn from, one sister’s Qur’an journey to date. Sisters also took part in a unique workshop which helped them plan for their engagement with the Qur’an during Ramadan and beyond. Sisters focused on creating their very own Dream Qur’an Milestones and Dream Qur’an Schedules and here is what one attendee had to say in the days following our event.

REFLECTING ON OUR FIRST QUR’AN RETREAT: Missed it? Missed OUT!
This unique retreat, took place from Friday 28th July – Sunday 30th July 2017 at De Vere Latimer Estate, and revolved around this moving ayah:
“Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient”
